A Note from Karen Champagne, The Grateful Mother
I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all the volunteers for the time and energy they have given to my family through the Nine Days for Nine Children project.
Also, I would like to thank all the businesses, groups and individuals who have contributed donations to make all this possible.
It is amazing to see the people who have come together to help my children and me. Since my husband took his life four years ago things have been tough. Thanks to all of you our lives look the brightest they have since before his death.
On Sunday my children and I will move back into the home they have been raised in, and the home that their father and family built for them. Everything that was worn out, broken or not up to code has been fixed or replaced. Our home is the safest it has ever been! Now there is room for us to all gather in comfortably as a family. Josie, my only girl, finally has her own bedroom. Having a second bathroom will be a great relief.
I have gone from losing sleep at night due to worrying so much about not being able to provide a home for my children, to losing sleep at night because of the excitement of being back into our new home.
My children and I are very blessed to live in this community. I cannot describe the sense of relief and happiness we are all feeling.
With all my heart I thank you all.
Karen Champagne
